A teacher's tale

Faisal Ahmed Khan: A water drop in the desert
Contributed by M. Kamal Khan

“We have a new teacher having fervent propensity for education and research with an excellent command on English language”, once said one friend of mine from Telecom Engineering Department, BUITEMS. In fact he was pointing to newly inducted Faisal Ahmed Khan Kakar, an Assistant Professor presently Chairing Dept. of Telecom Engineering. After few causeries with the erudite professor I found my friend’s appraisal absolutely right.

Having received his bachelor and master from Bahria University, the professor further endeavors to supplement his studies. His excellent acads with a research publication at an IEEE conference at Loughborough University, in addition to his leadership and problem-solving abilities, assisted him in wining the noble Fulbright Scholarship. He will be departing for commencing his PhD studies at prestigious Georgia Institute of Technology, USA in August, 2009.

With an eloquent style, the academician enjoys guiding students, irrespective of their subject areas and problems’ nature. In a university with plenty of educatees striving for boosting their GPA’s as the solitary object of studies, he is found encouraging them about getting acquainted with the research culture. The professor has a profound love for his home-soil and is gravely committed to improve the level of education there. He preferred serving the academia over a remunerative job offer and aims to establish a modern research facility at his parent institute, BUITEMS, upon completion of PhD studies.

In the end, “Wish you best of luck Sir!”
