PhD fellowships in Psychology at University of Dundee

The School of Psychology in the University of Dundee is offering a number of PhD studentships/teaching fellowships starting in September 2009. The School of Psychology has a vibrant research community which provides a stimulating and exciting environment for postgraduate study. We encourage students who expect or have already obtained a First or Upper Second class Honours degree in Psychology or a related discipline, or who already have an MSc, to apply for the studentships.Research supervision is available in any area of expertise within the School. We have strong research groups in Social Psychology, Self & Identity; Language; Cognition; Developmental Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience.

The School has an outstanding record of success in both teaching and research. The quality of our research was judged to be internationally excellent by the RAE 2008 and we achieved the highest rating, “Excellent”, for Teaching Quality. The Department also has full “1+3″ and “+3″ ESRC recognition status as an accredited training outlet.

The School’s research is supported by state-of-the-art facilities, including a number of eye-tracking labs, human electrophysiological recording and analysis facilities, as well as an infant laboratory. There are excellent facilities for postgraduate students, including allocated office space, equipment and conference funding.

The studentships will cover fees as well as a bursary of £12,000 per annum. Successful applicants will be expected to contribute towards teaching in the department. Home and International students are encouraged to apply; fees for International Students will be covered at the level for Home Students.
