The 2009 United Nations International Law Fellowship Program will take place in the Peace Palace in The Hague/Netherlands from 6 July to 14 August 2009.
The 2009 Fellowship Program will be conducted in English. Fluency in spoken and written English is required. The next Fellowship Program in French will take place in 2010.

The Program comprises participation in seminars, attendance of lectures at The Hague Academy of International Law, as well as study visits.
Subjects on the course curriculum may include the following topics:
Law of Treaties, Intellectual Property Law, Law of the Sea, International
Protection of Human Rights, Refugee Law, International Criminal Law,
International Environmental Law, International Humanitarian Law, International
Investment Law, Law of International Watercourses, International Trade Law, Recent Developments in International Law.
Financial Arrangements and Accommodation
The Programme will cover the fellowship recipient’s travel costs in economy class as well as medical insurance, the training material and the registration fee for The Hague Academy of International Law. In accordance with policies and procedures governing the administration of United Nations fellowships, participants will receive a stipend to cover their living expenses.
Accommodation will also be provided by the program. Additional places will be made available on a self-financed basis for participants who will have to take care of all the costs associated with their participation (travel, accommodation, living expenses, registration fee for The Hague Academy of International Law).
